About this working group:
Our working group Migration and Refugees is about making policy proposals and ideas that will make it easier for humans to move globally in a free, safe, and decent way.
The purpose of our working groups shall be to create a network of people with the same interests to start discussions and find solutions in matters of migration and refugees. Our work is about both making it easier for Europeans to travel, study, work, and live in other parts of the world and for individuals around the world to be able to immigrate to and live in the EU. We are analyzing how migration is a part of possible global economic, financial, and political integration with the EU as inspiration and historical examples.
A special focus is done regarding the roles of sub-national units as regions, cities, and local communities when it comes to refugees and asylum-seekers, and how modern technology can be used to enable safer migration, prevent human smuggling, and provide legal identifications to humans who lack IDs.
You should join this working group because migration is a global challenge, and there are better and humane solutions based on freedom, solidarity, and human security. Europe has an important role to play in assisting the UN and vice-versa. Together, we can make long-term solutions that enable safer and freer movement while preventing human rights abuses and insecurity.
What is the aim of this working group?
To make it possible for all law-abiding humans to be able to migrate around the globe for work, studies, and traveling. Another focus is to create better solutions regarding refugee reception, integration, adaptation, and institutional connections between local and global governance. The EU and its member states can contribute a safer and freer movement within, to, and from Europe.
About our working group chairperson Vladan Lausevic
I am a social entrepreneur based in Stockholm, working with ideas as liquid democracy and tech like blockchain. Often I write about migration and refugees as in Swedish and English-speaking media. Due to my work with decentralizing technology and experience of earlier political and social engagement for refugees, I see possibilities of making migration easier, safer, and freer towards the future.
If you are interested in participating in this working group, please send an email with your contact details to: email@example.com and Vladan Lausevic will come back to you as soon as possible. Please put firstname.lastname@example.org in CC. We are looking forward to your contribution!
